Last Friday, eBay’s Talent Acquisition Team met with our students to discuss full-time job opportunities at their bustling New York office.
Back in October, eBay’s Director of Software Development and Merchandise, Giri Iyengar explained to our students how their skills are vital to serving customers on their e-commerce platform. Having already accepted applicants for their summer work experience positions, eBay is now looking to hire more data science graduates as Research Engineers and Applied Researchers.
What makes these positions different from the opportunities Iyengar introduced in the Fall, the team explained, is that the Research Engineer’s role is particularly dynamic: they act as a crucial bridge of communication that swiftly connects the data scientist, product developer, and marketing department together.
eBay’s close-knit New York office of 120 employees means that Research Engineers have a golden opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the company’s operations. Eagerness, then, is just as important as technical aptitude. eBay is an excellent option for our students to apply their data science skills to real-world problems while expanding their network in the e-commerce industry.
