Bio: Yichen is a Ph.D. student at the NYU Center for Data Science working with Professor Shuyang Ling. He received his B.S. in Honors Mathematics and Data Science from NYU Shanghai. His research interests lie at the intersection of optimization, mathematics, and data science, with a particular focus on semidefinite programming, nonconvex optimization, synchronization problems, and Burer–Monteiro factorization. More broadly, he is interested in optimization theory and the mathematical foundations of data science.
