Innovative Programs

AI Science and Technology Apprenticeship Residency (AISTAR)

AISTAR aims to bridge the gap between rapid AI advancements and practical application. The program offers:

  • 4-6 month research projects for visiting scientists
  • Mentorship from top AI faculty, including luminaries like Yann LeCun, Kyunghyun Cho, Rob Fergus, and Brenden Lake
  • Access to NYU seminars, reading groups, and classes

CDS-Courant Academic Research Services (CARS)

CARS is a mentorship program where employees from external companies are advised by our faculty on executing research projects. The initiative launched in fall 2021 with LG Electronics, focusing on learning new visual and NLP-based classification models with minimally labeled data.

Executive Education

Our Executive Education Program offers a customizable curriculum based on our highly successful Introduction to Data Science course from our MS program. Topics include:

  • Fitting Mathematical Models to Data
  • Overfitting and its Avoidance
  • Data Mining and Machine Learning Techniques
