The Center for Data Science’s (CDS) Summer Research Initiative, developed as part of the Data Science and Software Services (DS3) initiative, is designed exclusively for students enrolled in the CDS MS in Data Science program. Its purpose is to introduce CDS MS students to research projects across NYU and to connect them with faculty and researchers across the university.

CDS MS students are among the top data scientists in the country. Through this initiative, students are connected with research opportunities across NYU while also providing researchers with highly skilled data science talent for their projects.

To facilitate connections between CDS MS students and researchers, CDS hosts a research project fair each spring, where invited researchers meet and discuss open projects directly with interested CDS MS students. This initiative is not open to students outside the CDS MS in Data Science program, and external student participation is not considered at this time.

CDS is a world-class institute for data science research, and its MS students are trained in graduate-level probability, statistics, machine learning, big data, and inference. To learn more about the MS in Data Science curriculum, please visit the MS Curriculum page.
