Held during Fall and Spring semesters, these sessions introduce students to companies and their data science initiatives. Company representatives share:

  • “Day in the life” of a Data Scientist

CDS Career Fair

These fairs typically feature 5-8 companies recruiting data scientists. Students can:

  • Have brief conversations with company representatives
  • Learn about data science initiatives and job openings
  • Submit resumes directly to companies

Datathons/Hackathons

CDS-hosted events where students:

  • Demonstrate their skills
  • Work with company data
  • Connect with employers in a non-traditional setting

Companies provide datasets and challenges that lasts up to 6 hours, and their data scientists and engineers judge the results.
