Our History
The NYU Center for Data Science Partners Program is the opportunity to collaborate with New York City’s leading data science research and academic institute. As one of the oldest degree-granting data science programs in the world, CDS was founded in 2013 by Dr. Yann LeCun in response to the growing demand for data scientists in academia, industry, and government. Over the years, we have produced hundreds of data science practitioners and leaders, recruited faculty in joint partnership with domain departments, strengthened interdisciplinary relationships across the university, and sponsored research projects with industry. If you are interested in learning more and/or joining the NYU CDS Partners Program, please contact Loraine Nascimento, NYU CDS Head of External Relations and Career Development.

CDS Partners Program
In recognition of the need for data science in academia, industry, and government, we created the NYU Center for Data Science Partners Program. The objective of the program is to create mutually beneficial relationships around recruiting, research, and philanthropic giving. With our robust faculty across diverse domains, the interdisciplinary nature of the Center for Data Science allows us the leverage to connect industry partners across academic programs at NYU. This joint hiring model for faculty, as well as the recently launched Data Science & Software Services (DS3) initiative, allows faculty and researchers from other NYU departments to seek out talent and/or collaboration on projects. In turn, our students apply their data science knowledge to various domains, strengthening their overall ability as data scientists.

General Support
General support provides CDS the ability to finance innovative initiatives, conference sponsorships, research-space development, junior fellowships for early-career researchers, among other efforts. Simply put, it will help CDS realize its core mission: creating a world-leading Data Science training and research facility, arming researchers and professionals with the tools to harness the power of Big Data, and having a lasting impact in shaping Data Science research and practice.
Diversity Initiative
CDS has set out to build a culture that embraces inclusion and diversity. These ideals are indispensable for advancing innovation and knowledge within the fields of technology, engineering, mathematics, and sciences. The Diversity Initiative was established to help address the lack of diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups in Data Science. CDS invites industry partners to help us achieve our goal of creating an inclusive and diverse hub for Data Science.
Career & Recruiting
CDS provides a concierge service to our industry career & recruiting partners to identify and recruit top talent. For more information about what we do and how you could be involved, please visit our career page.
