Bio: Haoxu Huang is a PhD student at the NYU Center for Data Science, where he is co-advised by Prof. Narges Razavian and Prof. Carlos Fernandez-Granda. He is broadly interested in understanding representation learning, with particular emphasis on algorithmic fairness, self-supervised and multi-modal learning, and their applications in healthcare. Before starting his doctoral studies, he worked as a full-time researcher at the University of California, San Francisco, where he explored issues of algorithmic fairness in healthcare under the guidance of Prof. Sharmila Majumdar. He received an M.S. in Computer Science from NYU and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
