Juan C. Perdomo
Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Engineering, and Data Science - Starting September 2026
Bio: Juan C. Perdomo is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Engineering, and Data Science at New York University. He earned his PhD in EECS from UC Berkeley and his BA in Computer Science and Mathematics from Harvard. Before joining NYU, he was a CRCS postdoctoral fellow at Harvard and a postdoctoral researcher at MIT. His research develops foundations of machine learning for the social world. He is particularly interested in developing algorithms with provable guarantees in dynamic, social contexts and the study of prediction algorithms used to allocate scarce resources. His research has directly influenced policy, changing how the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction assigns interventions to over 200,000 students annually. He has received an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and an Outstanding Paper Award at ICML 2025.
