Lilian Shiyang Pan

Bio: Shiyang (Lilian) Pan is a PhD student at NYU Center for Data Science, advised by John Pearson and Cristina Savin. Her research lies at the intersection of computational neuroscience and probabilistic machine learning, with interests in causal representation learning, reinforcement learning, and control for understanding animal behavior and neural population activity. She received her BSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and her MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Duke University.
