Bio: Yilun is a PhD student at NYU Center for Data Science, advised by Professor Andrew Gordon Wilson. He is interested in probabilistic machine learning, representation learning, and more broadly how models generalize and learn. Prior to starting his PhD, Yilun worked on manifold geometry and efficient-encoding inspired self-supervised learning at Flatiron Institute, Simons Foundation. He graduated magna cum laude with high honors from NYU with a BA in Mathematics. Outside of research, he enjoys playing ping pong, ultimate frisbee, basketball, and reading about philosophy, politics, and economics.
